LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Legal ceremony
● Prepared marriage application
● Birth certificates of the spouses
● Official identification with photographs of the couple
● Premarital talks
● Prenuptial clinical examinations (valid for no more than 15 days)
● Medical certificate (valid no more than 15 days) in case of having children, the two previous points are omitted, presenting the children's birth certificate
● Proof of address
● 2 to 4 witnesses with official identification who are present at the wedding (they cannot be the parents)
● In case of divorce or widowhood of one of the spouses, present the document proving it. If it was carried out abroad, it must be translated into Spanish by an authorized expert.
● For minors, parents must present a copy of their official identification with a photograph.
● If one of the spouses is a foreigner, the following are required: Permit to marry issued by the National Immigration Institute, proof of legal stay in the country and a birth certificate translated into Spanish by an authorized expert.
