DAY OF THE DEAD IN MEXICO
October 13 2025
Destinations Hotel
Discover one of Mexico’s most beautiful and authentic traditions across three extraordinary destinations.
NUEVO VALLARTA
Located along the stunning Riviera Nayarit, this destination offers breathtaking Pacific sunsets and a wide range of unforgettable experiences.
Visit Sayulita, a bohemian seaside town known for its artistic vibe and perfect waves for learning to surf.
In San Pancho, relax on a serene beach and treat yourself to fresh, delicious seafood.
Day of the Dead by the Sea
From mid-October to early November, the region prepares to celebrate this tradition in a magical coastal setting.
A must-visit is Playa de los Muertos, named after its location just behind Sayulita’s cemetery. To reach the beach, you walk through the cemetery, which during this season transforms into a vibrant display of colorful altars, candles, flowers, and offerings honoring loved ones who have passed on.
KRYSTAL GRAND® NUEVO VALLARTA
An all-inclusive beachfront resort offering everything you need to enjoy the perfect getaway.
Savor national and international cuisine in four specialty restaurants and relax in five bars and lounges, some featuring spectacular views of Banderas Bay.
GUADALAJARA
Known as La Perla Tapatía, this city is the birthplace of mariachi and tequila, and is celebrated for its architecture and culinary traditions.
Explore the Historic Center, featuring colonial landmarks such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, Teatro Degollado, and the Instituto Cultural Cabañas, all UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Indulge in traditional dishes like tortas ahogadas, birria, pozole, and carne en su jugo, for dessert, try a jericalla, and if you’ve had a bit too much tequila, a refreshing tejuino with lime and salt will set you right.
Day of the Dead
At the end of October and beginning of November, the city comes alive with parades of Catrines and Catrinas, alleyway tours, and altar and costume contests.
Don’t miss the nighttime tour of the Panteón de Belén Museum, one of Guadalajara’s oldest cemeteries.
KRYSTAL URBAN® GUADALAJARA
The ideal hotel to enjoy everything Guadalajara has to offer.
Located just steps from La Minerva, it features comfortable rooms and suites designed to provide you with a truly pleasant stay.
CIUDAD DE MÉXICO
One of the largest cities in the world awaits you with endless attractions.
In the Historic Center, you can explore some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks: the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Zócalo, National Palace, Palacio de Bellas Artes, and Templo Mayor—an ancient Aztec archaeological site.
The city also offers amusement parks such as Six Flags and Aztlán, as well as an exciting nightlife scene that goes on until dawn.
Day of the Dead
Mexico City bursts with color and creativity during this celebration. On Paseo de la Reforma, you can witness a spectacular parade of Catrinas and alebrijes.
We also recommend the nighttime performance of “La Llorona” in Xochimilco, an open-air show experienced from the comfort of a trajinera.
