Mexico City is ideal if you are looking for a destination where you can celebrate Mexican Independence Day in a big way. The Historic Center is decorated in the colors of the Mexican flag, Mexican cuisine takes center stage at every restaurant, and you can enjoy an exceptional atmosphere.

Here you will discover three places you should visit on your next trip to Mexico City, where to celebrate “El Grito,” and three accommodation options for your stay.

Mexico City: three must-see places

Historic Center and Zócalo. The heart of the city is a must-see, as it is home to the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Mexica ruins of Templo Mayor, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Palacio Postal Museum, and more than 50 museums waiting to be explored.

Chapultepec Park and Castle. This is an ideal place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. It features a lake and extensive green areas.

Here you will also find Chapultepec Castle, the only royal castle in the Americas. Just a short walk away, you can visit the iconic National Museum of Anthropology.

Coyoacán and San Ángel. These are two iconic Mexico City neighborhoods known for their colonial architecture and bohemian atmosphere. They are ideal for strolling through their plazas and enjoying their restaurants, nightlife, and renowned cultural attractions, such as Casa Azul, the Frida Kahlo Museum.
