Welcome to Ixtapa
Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is located 225 km northwest of Acapulco via Highway 200 in the Mexican Pacific coast and 583 km from Mexico City.
Ixtapa lies on the southern Pacific coast of Mexico, only a short distance from its sister resort town: Zihuatanejo. Nestled between the deep green hillsides of the Sierra Madres and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, it features impressive rock formations and is one of Mexico’s most famous resort and golf destinations. The Krystal Ixtapa has a prime beachfront location, only 20 minutes from the airport and in the middle of the entertainment and shopping area of the destination.
You can reach the destination using the following routes:
Via Acapulco
The first is via Acapulco. Take the exit to Cuernavaca and then the highway “Carretera del Sol / Sun road” to Acapulco, before entering Acapulco. Follow signs to Ixtapa / Zihuatanejo. Average travel time is 7 hours 30 minutes. Upon reaching the town of Zihuatanejo, follow the road (not for downtown) for about 8 km, pass the Palma Real golf course and shopping center.
Toll Road to Toluca
The second option is to take the toll road to Toluca. After passing the city you must take the route towards Morelia where it connects to highway Siglo XXI which connects Bajio and Morelia. Average travel time is 4 hours.
The international airport is just 15 minutes from Ixtapa (20 km) the destination has airlines arriving from Mexico City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Dallas, Denver and Houston.
